Keep Your Beans Fresh

Aromatic Longevity?

From our testing and customer feedback, our roasted coffees stay aromatic at least one month after opening, if stored properly in a cool, dark place. Our testing has shown our coffee beans transferred into proper storage immediately after opening have lasted 3-months and may have gone longer but that's the longest we've tested. We recommend air-expulsion canisters or air-tight mason jar for greatest longevity.

What to do once opened?

Whether your coffee comes in an aluminum can or plastic bag, we recommend transferring the beans into a dedicated, air-tight coffee storage container once opened (especially if it came in a plastic bag!). Any purpose-made coffee storage container is ideal, but a well-sealed mason jar in a cool, dark spot is great too!

The Sweet Spot

You may hear some experts suggest a few days off-roast is peak drinking. While that typically yields a good coffee experience, we find that enjoying the coffee anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks off-roast yields the fullest aromas and flavors. Each coffee is slightly and there's absolutely nothing wrong with cracking open your fresh can the day you receive it, but we recommend letting the beans rest a week or two after roasting before opening.
